Please join us for this year’s annual HOA meeting and picnic on Saturday, June 11th at 11:00 a.m.

This year the event will again be held at the home of Lonnie and Nicki Garrett at 1212 NW Westwood Drive.  As always, BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair)! Lunch will be provided and the Central Jackson County Fire Department will provide a fire safety presentation as well as bringing a fire truck and ambulance for the kids to explore!

The Pink Hill Park recycling center is now open at 2725 NW Park Drive in Blue Springs. Their hours of operation are Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays & Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

They accept plastic, glass, paper, cardboard, aluminum and tin cans. For questions please call 228-0228.

We’ll soon be removing the remaining dead pine trees along Duncan Road. We’re currently waiting for the power company to take them down to level that they’re safe to work with. We’ve had a couple of members volunteer to remove the trees the remainder of the way, grind the stumps, haul off the debris and help replant. If this is a project you’d be interested in helping with, please contact a board member!

It is likely that planting will not occur until spring. If anyone has ideas or preferences for the type of trees you’d like to see planted, please let us know!

Mailboxes

If your mailbox is in need of replacement, please contact a board member. We’re currently looking into replacing the entire units (hopefully to match our street sign posts!) but have yet to find an economical solution. Please let us know if you have any ideas or preferences for this project!

Aesthetic Committee

Weatherstone now has an aesthetic committee! Committee members are as follows: David Moriconi, Chris and Amber O’Brien, Curtis and Allison Brungart, Marco Seabra, and Gerry Stauch. We’d like to remind everyone of the following section of our bylaws:

Atricle VIII. Aesthetic Committee

All improvements or alterations, which could deface the appearance of the subdivision, must be presented to the Chairman of the Aesthetic Committee in advance of making said improvement or alterations. This would include such items as painting, fencing, swimming pools, tennis courts or any other items which would physically change the appearance of said property. If said proposal is not approved or disapproved within thirty (30) days of submission to the Aesthetic Committee, the proposal shall be deemed approved. If the Aesthetic Committee disapproves said proposal, the Member has the right to appeal the Aesthetic Committee’s decision to the Executive Committee. Such improvements or alterations must be in accordance with the Restriction of the Weatherstone Development Corporation.

To submit a proposal to the Aesthetic Committee, please contact Chairman David Moriconi at 816-229-9057.
